Ampacity is an important index of power cable operation, and the accuracy of its calculation model is of great significance to the lean management of the cable and the stable operation of the power grid. Based on the definition of cable rated current-carrying capacity, this paper analyzes the relevant standards for the current-carrying capacity calculation of power cables at home and abroad, and focuses on the advantages and disadvantages of the analytical method based on the hot circuit model and the numerical calculation method based on the finite element model for current-carrying calculation models. Combined with the development of the digital transformation of the power grid, the calculation of cable current-carrying capacity is summarized and prospeced.
