Mining is impacted at all stages by various macro risks. Geophysical methods address many of these risks resulting in cost and time effective solutions enabling mining success. Many of the geological complexities of the Bushveld Igneous Complex are well defined by the application of airborne, ground and underground geophysical methods. Herein we examine the impact of borehole radar deployed from surface and underground workings into volumes which are targeted for, and ahead of mining to de-risk mine planning by delivering critical geotechnical inputs.
