When constructing and applying models it is important to take into account scale, data availability and the research question it is applied to. With the ability to rapidly modify models and combine sub-modules one can more easily experiment and fit models to specific requirements and move away from the models-of-everywhere paradigm. The Mobius2 framework allows for this with minimal effort on the part of the researcher. It also includes separation of hydrodynamic transport from biochemistry modules, fast run speeds, time scale invariance, a user interface with inbuilt autocalibration and sensitivity analysis, batch run scripting, the ability to easily configure complex transport networks between soil, rivers, lakes, and more.
