Positivity and tail of pentagonal number series

Abstract

In this paper, we give a refinement of a result of Andrews and Merca on truncated pentagonal number series. Some positivity results involving d-regular partitions and Andrews-Gordon identities are established. In particular, we prove several conjectures of Merca and Krattenthaler--Merca--Radu on truncated pentagonal number series.
