Accurate projections of streamflow and water resources are crucial to sustainable water resources management. This cannot be achieved without consideration of dam operation especially for China where there exists a large number of reservoirs to regulate the streamflow. This study employs a national-scale land surface-hydrologic model (CLHMS) coupled with a well-calibrated reservoir operation module for 384 major Chinese reservoirs and human water withdrawal to simulate the human-impacted hydrologic regime across China. The CMIP6 climate projection data is bias corrected with historic observations to force the CLHMS to investigate the future hydrologic alterations of China. The results will be presented and discussed, and we believe our study can provide some implications for hydrologic projection research under climate change impact.
