Earth Observation data is indispensable for agricultural monitoring and has a huge potential in managing operations at farming companies, accelerating strategy formulation processes at consultancy firms, and making risk assessment more robust at insurance companies. To realize these potentials and deliver the expected benefits to the agricultural sector, EO data-based services must be easy to understand for non-space actors, cost-efficient, and conform with the standard information services on a technical level. Furthermore, to deliver valuable services, such as crop growth modeling and yield forecasting, EO data must be combined with non-EO environmental data sets, such as meteorology, soil, and in-situ measurements from local sensor networks. Danube Data Cube is a regional data exploration platform that aims to support the agricultural sector with relevant information services, APIs, and applications for specific practical tasks in a cost-efficient and scalable way. Based on CDSE, the platform provides standardized access to EO and non-EO datasets through combined data cubes with high-level API availability and application hosting for 3rd party value adders. The platform aims to facilitate the creation of targeted software solutions dedicated to end users in the agricultural sector. This presentation provides insight into our technical stack, platform-, and business logic. Besides the general platform functionality, we also present two use cases of end-user software solutions built on the Danube Data Cube platform: Irrigation optimization Strategy formulation for a growing season
