The present study determines the environmental quality and carrying capacity for the restoration of the degraded mangroves in Southeast Sulawesi. The physico-chemical conditions of estuarine water and its sediment nutrient contents were determined in both protected and unprotected areas, with no significant difference (p > 0.05) except for nitrogen and inorganic carbon contents of water. The current study found promising environments for the restoration of degraded mangroves in unprotected areas in Southeast Sulawesi.
