Background: To understand the distribution of onset time, age of onset, and gender of IgAV patients admitted to our hospital, and to analyze the differences and similarities between the minors and the adults. Methods: The clinical data of 2721 patients with IgAV including minors and adults admitted to a tertiary hospital in Hefei fromJanuary 2009 to December 2022 were collected and analyzed retrospectively. Results: Among the 2721 IgAV cases, 53.4% were minors (<18 years old), and 46.6% were adults (≥18 years old). The disease peak occurred in minors aged 5-9 years, while in adults, there were more young people aged 18-30.The male-to-female ratio was 1:0.74 in minors and 1:1.2 in adults.Minors exhibited a significant seasonal distribution, peaking in fall and winter, while adults showed less pronounced seasonality, with about 63% of cases in colder months and a trough in summer. Conclusion: IgAV is most prevalent in boys aged 5-9 years among minors, with adult cases common, and young women aged 18-30 are more susceptible to the disease.Minors should be alert to mitigate the risk of infection in the cold season.
