Insomnia is one of the most common sleep disorders, threatening human physical and mental health. Many scholars are committed to revealing the pathogenesis of insomnia and optimizing the clinical diagnosis and treatment plan of insomnia. As a brain-specific bioelectrical signal, electroencephalogram (EEG) reflects the over-awakening state of the cerebral cortex of insomniacs, and it has gradually become a research hotspot in the field of sleep to use EEG to study insomnia. A large number of studies have confirmed that the efficacy of acupuncture for insomnia is exact and without obvious adverse effects. The application of EEG can study the electrophysiological mechanism of acupuncture for insomnia, and provide objective efficacy evaluation indicators. This paper prospects the application of encephalofluctuograph technology, real-time EEG analysis technology, EEG combined with functional magnetic resonance imaging technique, and EEG combined with artificial intelligence technology.
