The swift advancement of wireless technology has become an essential aspect of contemporary society, particularly in fields like communications, healthcare, and the Internet of Things (IoT). This technology is increasingly making its presence felt in Electromagnetic Compatibility (EMC) and Electromagnetic Interference (EMI) applications in the form of sensors. This study concentrates on assessing the performance of a rectangular patch antenna designed for wearable sensor applications. The proposed antenna, intended to operate at a frequency of 2.8 GHz, utilizes flat silver yarns for both the radiating patch and groundplane, which are embroidered onto cotton, serving as the dielectric substrate. With a total thickness of 0.8 mm, the proposed antenna is designed to be flexible and wearable. The obtained results from the implemented antenna indicate various resonant frequencies, including the intended one. Despite minor differences between the measured and simulated results, the suggested antenna shows potential for its suitability in wearable EMC/EMI sensor applications.
