Traditional power transmission analysis is based on midday data, which is subject to human errors and time intervals. Many ship power transmission analysis systems were developed at the same time that data transmission on land faced numerous problems. This research proposed a data collection approach by utilizing a self-organizing network (SON) with BeiDou to analyze the ship's power transmission. The application of LDA reveals the relationship between the shaft power of the main engine and the ship's delivery speed that is determined by load as well as weather situation, and is an important feature affecting consumption of fuel. A physics-based technique is proposed to analyze hull fouling and improve ship decoration. The SON proposed to transmit data from the onboard user interface to the shore user interface through BeiDou. An outcome shows that fouling of a ship's hull significantly enhances its resistance.
