This research introduces a methodology, for identifying flaws in high-voltage insulators. These flaws include damage, broken shells and overall integrity assessment. Insulators play a role in power transmission so it is essential to examine them to ensure grid reliability. Our automated system provides a cost-effective solution that serves as a defence, against potential power disruptions. This proposed solution with YOLOv8 focuses on fortifying the resilience of power grids by uncovering and addressing vulnerabilities in insulator shells. The proposed method has achieved high accuracy 98.2% and 99% precision.
