Abstract The purpose of this research is to explore the current industrial status and the possible trend of China’s fashion industry which would be a supplement to previous research on the topic of “current and future sustainability of international fashion industry”. This research applies the unsupervised machine learning technology “Latent Dirichlet Allocation” (LDA) to analyse the researches on the topic “sustainable development and approaches of China’s fashion industry” from China National Knowledge Infrastructure (CNKI) and Web of Science (WOS) from 2013 to 2023, and mine keywords in it so as to clarify what scholars consider as the key elements of China’s fashion industry’s development. There are two findings of this research: firstly, sustainable development would be the main path of China’s fashion industry; Secondly, China’s fashion industry would appear three subdivided directions in the future, which is digitalise, green-system and regional integration. The value of this research lies in offering rational prediction through professional data in order to provide experiences, references, empirical merit for more fashion researcher that concerned about issues of industrial structure optimisation and sustainable development.
