Quantization parameter (QP) is an important factor to determine the bitrate in video coding, especially in the case of limited bandwidth, how to choose the quantization parameter reasonably to achieve the actual bitrate as close as possible to the target bitrate is particularly important. In this paper, Differential Evolution (DE) algorithm is used to assign quantization parameter for Coding Tree Units(CTUs) in each frame of 360-degree video based on High Efficient Video Coding (HEVC). The experimental results show that compared with HEVC reference software HM-16.20, the proposed algorithm can provide 1.86% bitrate savings and 0.07dB improvement in Peak Signal to Noise Ratio (PSNR).
