ABSTRACT Nine Peruvian isolates of Vibrio parahaemolyticus were characterized through sequencing, revealing the presence of simple sequence repeat, Pir toxin-like genes, and genes associated with antibiotic resistance, toxic components, and transposable elements. These findings expand our understanding of the genetic diversity, disease resistance, and virulence in cultivated shrimp populations in Peru.
