Kinetic Hydrate Inhibitor (KHI) evaluation in wet sour gas has been extensively publicized showing H2S can, in some cases, have an adverse effect on a KHI. Advances in technology has overcome this for Type I and II systems where subcooling can be high. Development of an environmentally acceptable KHI with comparable performance that is not affected by continuous corrosion inhibitor, and compatible in high saline, elevated temperature systems bring further opportunities for KHI globally.
