Estimation of seed production in dwarf mistletoe based on plant size and density, indicating variability.
Seed production among individual plants of dwarf mistletoe varies with plant size and density of fruiting. Regressions of fruitfulness on plant length/width relationships within each of 4 density classes allow seed production per plant to be estimated from standard curves. These estimates are applied to visual estimates of size and density of plants on the sample unit. For convenience of use, estimated numbers of seeds per plant are tabulated for plants of 12 different lengths and 5 widths in each of the 4 density classes. Forest Sci. 17:73-78.
