The Dependence of Professional Burnout on the Social Orientation of the Profession and the Level of Empathy of the Individual

This Article is devoted to the study of the interrelationships between professional burnout, the specifics of professional activity and the level of empathy of workers in various social professions. Professional burnout is considered as a complex of emotional exhaustion, depersonalization and reduction of professional achievements, resulting from prolonged exposure to stressful factors of the working environment. The methodology includes the Maslach Professional Burnout Diagnostic questionnaire, and Empathy Test (EETS). The study involved 37 people from different fields of economic activity to determine their level of empathy and the stage of professional burnout according to Maslach. Three patterns of behavior were identified, and recommendations were given for each group, taking into account the stage of burnout development. The practical value of conducting research on professional burnout in the field of personnel management has been established.
