Research uncovers new marking irons in Pannonia, revealing insights into Roman military provinces and inscriptions.
In recent years, research into Roman marking irons gets more intensive as the number of the identified objects steadily increases. In this paper we attempted to collect all the known signacula ferrea from the territory of Pannonia and added three recently discovered pieces to this collection. The identified types, inscriptions and the findspots match the tendencies of other Roman military provinces.
