The article discusses the use of methods and techniques of various sciences in the study of models of traditional cultures in the regions (using the example of costume complexes), namely, the stability of development with the interaction of a sufficient number of ethnic and religious communities. For example, a comprehensive ethnographic survey of the Kirov region showed that in areas where two ethnocultures come into contact, their uniqueness is erased faster, and when three or more ethnocultures come into contact, their specificity persists longer and more fully. The confessional factor contributes to the strengthening of national specificity. In this regard, diversity can be perceived as a kind of guarantee of balance, stability in communication and reproduction of ethnic cultures. The plots from the research fields of exact and natural sciences are presented, revealing the similarities of the interactions of the objects of research – thermodynamics, genetics; ethnocultures can be represented as “living systems”, they also reveal the macro-level (the world external to ethnocultures), the ordinary level (everyday life, household system) and a kind of micro- (nano-?) level – the level of reproduction technologies (“ecology of the soul”, “folk therapy”, etc.). Using the example of the presented formula for contacting ethnic cultures, patterns that find analogies in other scientific fields are revealed.
