In the current context of the global economy, marked by accelerated digitalization, financial uncertainties, and rapid technological change, innovations in the financing of small and medium-sized enterprises (SMEs) play a crucial role in ensuring access to capital and supporting entrepreneurial development. This paper explores emerging international trends regarding alternative financing mechanisms such as crowdfunding, equity crowdfunding, peer-to-peer (P2P) lending, fintech platforms, and hybrid instruments. It analyzes how these innovations have contributed to the democratization of access to financial resources, the reduction of dependency on traditional banking institutions, and the support of start-ups and SMEs in their early stages of development. Finally, the study proposes strategic directions for encouraging the innovative use of alternative financial instruments, with a focus on digitalization, public-private partnerships, and the integration of SMEs into global financial networks.
