From Materiality to Metaphor and Back Again: gaita nihil and Cole Rizki on Editing, Translating, and Publishing Trans Literatures

Abstract: “From Materiality to Metaphor and Back Again: Cole Rizki and gaita nihil on Editing, Translating, and Publishing Trans Literatures” brings scholar Cole Rizki, editor of the translation section of TSQ: Transgender Studies Quarterly into dialogue with gaita nihil, founder and director of puntos suspensivos ediciones (ellipsis press), a trans*/travesti/nonbinary press and cultural platform in Buenos Aires. From a hemispheric trans perspective, our conversation traverses the inversions of trans cultures in Argentina and the US, the material challenges of anti-fascist trans literary production and circulation, and the role translation plays within this context.
