Investigative research identifies landslide causes and suggests remedial measures in complex geological conditions.
During the construction of the section of the E-763 Preljina-Požega highway, in the exit zone from the "Munjino Brdo" tunnel (engineering construction K22), a landslide was activated on the slope above the cut carried out to a depth of about 20 m. The joints that appeared in the period June-August 2024 indicated the destabilization of the terrain in complex geological conditions. In order to identify the cause of landslide activation, as well as to define remedial measures, additional geotechnical research and tests were carried out in May and June 2025. In addition to exploratory drilling, SPT and PMT tests were performed on the field, geophysical surveys, geomechanical tests were carried out, and inclinometer and piezometer structures were also installed for the needs of continuous monitoring of the field in real time. The aim of the paper is to present a hybrid research and methodological approach in solving the problem of landslide activation through an example from practice, which will consequently affect on defining of adequate permanent remedial measures.
