Observational analysis reveals enhanced passenger experience at Frankfurt Airport, highlighting energy efficiency and flexibility.
The new Terminal 3 at Frankfurt Airport solves the problem of increasing number of passengers, reduces congestion and improves experience by providing modern facilities. The sustainable structural design of the Frankfurt Airport Terminal 3 meets the most important needs of the modern society and environment and combines them with functional flexibility: spans up to 28,6 m enable expansive column-free areas with an adaptable interior space; steel composite structures with appropriately designed connections reduce the energy consumption during the manufacturing and construction processes. The modularity of the design allows for phased expansion without affecting the ongoing operations. In general, the structural design of Terminal 3 shows an overall concept of an integrated planning approach for the current as well as future requirements.
