Multicriteria optimization models determine critical parameters for large-scale fires, suggesting improved fire unit organization.
Purpose. Based on multivariate optimization methods the directions of developing methodical approaches to determining parameters of large-scale fires are considered. Methods. Methods of multivariate Pareto optimization are applied for solving the given problem. Findings. Based on a set of statistical data on fires for 2010-2023, the proposed model of searching for Pareto-front points in the initial set to determine the parameters of large-scale fires is tested. The graphical illustration of the Pareto-front definition for such parameters as the time of fire-rescue units engagement at the fire, the number of fire-fighting equipment involved in fire extinguishing is given. Research application field. The method is proposed to be used for planning the organization of operational fire units’ activities to replace the method based on the assessment of material damage from fire, officially used until 2020. Conclusions. Using multidimensional optimization methods, the problem formulation for determining the parameters of large-scale fires is considered.
