Analysis of FEA discharge intensity in robotic fire extinguishing systems suggests improved efficiency and reliability.
Purpose. Currently, at facilities under protection with large spaces (both external and outer), means for point and remote discharge of fire extinguishing agents (FEA) to the fire seat are applied. To extinguish a fire successfully, it is necessary to ensure the required intensity of FEA discharge. The analysis of the existing methods for determining the intensity of FEA discharge by various fire extinguishing means and installations has shown the need for their adaptation to work with robotic fire extinguishing installations based on nozzles and pulse fire extinguishing installations. Methods. Theoretical method for analyzing methods for determining the intensity of FEA discharge; empirical method; mathematical method for determining the reliability of the results of the conducted experiment have been used during the study. Findings. The methodology for effective assessment of the average intensity of sprinkling FEA spray with robotic fire extinguishing installations based on nozzles has been developed; the results of average sprinkling intensity assessment of the nozzle spray of pulse fire extinguishing installation have been obtained; the mathematical dependence of sprinkling intensity on the volume of FEA in the liquid chamber of the nozzle of pulse fire extinguishing installation has been established; the reliability of experiment results on assessment of fire extinguishing parameters by pulse installation has been ascertained. Research application field. The results of the study can be applied by: – manufacturers of fire equipment designed for ensuring fire safety of facilities under protection for various purposes; – educational organizations of various structures and departments in the educational process; – certification bodies performing confirmation in accordance with the established procedure of this type of firefighting equipment. Conclusions. In this work, the need for testing the methodology for assessing the average intensity of spray sprinkling for nozzle equipment (including monitors as part of robotic fire extinguishing installations) has been justified and the experimental assessment of the average intensity of spray sprinkling of the nozzle of pulse fire extinguishing installations has been carried out.
