This research aimed to explore the similarities and differences in event structure priming when writing in Chinese and English, particularly in the field of cognitive linguistics, and the study was based on Croft's three - part event frame theory which classifies events into causative events, expressive occurrences, and state happenings, and by comparing the presentation of these three event kinds in Chinese and English texts, this paper investigated how the link between linguistic structure and cognitive structure was shown in the expression of event structures, and the results showed significant differences between Chinese and English in depicting causative events and expressive occurrences while their portrayals of state happenings were relatively similar, and the findings of this research emphasized the impact of cultural and linguistic backgrounds on language expression and would offer valuable insights on linguistic strategies for cross - cultural communication.
