This exploration proposes a framework for discourse analysis in English education, suggesting effective evaluation and teaching approaches.
To address the lack of systematic pathways for cultivating discourse analysis competence in English education, this study explores effective approaches to fostering such competence by proposing a framework composed of three components: foundational support systems, classroom implementation pathways, and collaborative safeguard mechanisms. The foundational support system includes discourse-oriented teaching material development and enhancement of teachers’ discourse teaching capabilities. The classroom implementation pathway encompasses the integrated application of multimodal discourse instruction and the design of stratified and progressive discourse practice activities. The collaborative safeguard mechanism involves constructing a diversified evaluation system for discourse competence and fostering a discourse learning ecosystem through home-school-community collaboration. This study aims to provide reference for English educators in implementing discourse analysis competence instruction.
