Numerical experiments explore actual evaporation changes across different climatic scenarios, implying significant regional impacts.
Approaches to the generalization of the complementary relationship principle widely used for estimating actual evaporation for a case of an inhomogeneously moistened underlying surface are analyzed. It is shown that the generalization can be based on modeling the structure of the atmospheric boundary layer over an inhomogeneous surface. Numerical experiments that allow analyzing the sensitivity of the approximation of the complementary relationship to a climatic impact on regional and local scales as well as to temporal and spatial scales of averaging of climatic characteristics were performed using a system of global and regional climate models and atmospheric boundary layer models for the forest and steppe zones. An analysis of the changes in actual evaporation over the territory of European Russia by the end of the 21st century relative to the baseline climate of the end of the 20th century is carried out within regional climate change ensemble projections.
