This approach demonstrates a microcontroller-controlled sun tracking system, suggesting a control strategy for improved energy efficiency.
This paper presents a novel approach to sun tracking using a microcontroller-based system, emphasizing the importance of microcontroller integration for efficient solar panel orientation. By utilizing Light Dependent Resistor (LDR) sensors, the system detects the position of the sun, converting the analog signals from the sensors into digital data for processing by the microcontroller. The microcontroller then generates Pulse Width Modulation (PWM) signals to control the direction and speed of the DC motors that adjust the solar panel's position. The role of the Atmega microcontroller is highlighted for its centrality in optimizing the sun-tracking process. Additionally, a hardware circuit algorithm is proposed, employing a Finite State Machine (FSM) for improved operational control. This work aims to illustrate and apply the FSM control strategy on microcontroller-based sun tracking systems to address limitations and provide potential solutions for enhanced tracking accuracy and power efficiency.
