Observational analysis showcases advanced design techniques and mathematical models for electric locomotives' actuators, indicating improved performance consistency.
Development of modern, domestically produced, import-substituting devices that are comparable in performance to foreign counterparts requires the creation of innovative research and design approaches. To this end, this paper exam-ines the features of current technical solutions employed in well-established designs of high-speed circuit breakers and the potential of modern design techniques for their key components, namely, electromagnetic actuators. Based on this analysis, it has been determined that it is essential to develop novel mathematical models for simulating the dynamics of electromagnetic actuators, accounting for arc formation and current limitation within the power circuit as well as the electrodynamic impact of the electric arc on switch timing parameters.
