Clinical assessment reveals risk factors like obesity and anemia in adolescents, suggesting early CKD detection may be feasible.
Chronic kidney disease (CKD) among adolescents is one of the causes leading to mortality and disability in the population. In our study, the most significant factors contributing to the development of the disease were identified as undiagnosed and untreated chronic inflammatory foci (caries, tonsillitis, otitis media), harmful habits (smoking among boys and excessive consumption of energy drinks among both genders), overweight, allergic diathesis and rickets in the medical history, low birth indicators (low birth weight and prematurity), anemia, and blood pressure changes. Based on these risk factors, it is possible to identify the early development of nephropathies in adolescents.
