Proposed optimization method lowers operational costs and enhances power flow in AC/DC hybrid systems, suggesting improved efficiency and control strategy.
This paper proposes an intelligent hierarchical regulation method for AC/DC hybrid power system power flow based on an improved cuckoo search algorithm, which aims to meet system requirements more efficiently while improving response speed and regulation performance. This method first constructs a mathematical model of the AC/DC hybrid power system, analyzes the various components of the system and their interactions, with the objective function of minimizing fuel costs, active power losses, and generator voltage deviations, and incorporates operational constraints. Introduce a DC voltage closed-loop regulation model to maintain a stable DC side voltage, which dynamically corrects voltage deviation through a proportional integral regulator. Through hierarchical processing, the complex optimization problem of the power system is decomposed into simple subproblems that can be independently solved. In the hierarchical calculation process, the improved cuckoo algorithm optimizes the power flow distribution and control strategy in the solution space, and based on the optimization results, intelligent hierarchical regulation of power flow is achieved. Experimental results demonstrate the method’s effectiveness, showing 2.21% and 4.49% cost reductions compared to CS and NSGA algorithms, respectively, while maintaining weekly operational costs below 1.4 × 106 yuan and achieving power transmission efficiency exceeding 85%. The proposed method significantly enhances both system response speed and overall operational efficiency.
