The photoionization cross sections for the $3p$ and $3s$ subshells of the ground state of atomic chlorine have been calculated using many-body perturbation theory. We find significant electron-electron correlation effects for both cross sections. Resonances due to the 3p⁴nd, 3p⁴ns, and 3s3p⁵np configurations, and relaxation effects in the $3p$ subshell cross sections were also calculated.
