This study evaluated the profitability of catfish fingerlings production among smallholder farmers in Awka North Local Government Area of Anambra State. The study focused on socioeconomic characteristics catfish fingerlings producers and estimated the cost and returns of catfish fingerlings production. A multistage sampling technique was employed in the selection of location and respondents. The data were collected from 100 catfish fingerlings producers in Awka North local government, Area. The primary instrument used for data collected was structured questionnaire. Data obtained was analyzed by Enterprise budgeting method, and descriptive statistics.Using data on socioeconomic characteristics,costs and returns, the research reveals that the average age of producers is 43 years, with a significant reliance on personal savings for funding. The total variable cost is ₦1,842,350, while the total revenue reaches ₦20,854,360.34, yielding a gross margin of ₦17,724,010.34. The study recommended that supply chains, increasing financial support, and investment in training and infrastructure should be improved.
