Analysis shows enhanced performance optimization in reservoir management, implying better well integrity and operational efficiencies.
Permanent Downhole Gauges (PDHGs) are essential tools for reservoir and well management, providing continuous pressure and temperature data critical for optimizing performance and ensuring well integrity. Despite technological advancements, PDHG reliability remains a challenge due to harsh downhole conditions and telemetry limitations, particularly offshore. This paper presents the development of a Business Intelligence (BI) dashboard designed to enhance PDHG status monitoring and management across operated affiliates. By integrating real-time data collection, automated error detection, and survival analysis using the Kaplan-Meier probabilistic method, the tool enables proactive gauge replacement planning, improved gauge procurement decisions, and significant operational efficiencies in the long term. Case studies demonstrate the value of accurate downhole pressure and temperature data in reducing production drawdown uncertainty and in optimizing reservoir performance, highlighting the potential to transform PDHG reliability management with proper treatment of already-available data.
