The paper addressess the impact of information technology on legal notices, such as citations, in the brazilian civil procedure law, which are nowadays practiced online. It is discussed concerning constitutional principles related to the subject, legal competence, current legislative insufficencies, as well as present normatization iniciatives. As an outcome, it is appointed a legal alternative for electronic legal communications for meeting the constitutional criteria and also the legal efficiency necessary to brazilian society.
