Teachers reveal gaps in knowledge and practice of motivational strategies, indicating ineffective student motivation techniques.
To accomplish this research twenty lower secondary teachers were selected from both private and government aided schools. Teachers were selected randomly. Although all teachers were found to have broad theoretical knowledge on motivational strategies, there are gaps in what they tell and do. It was also found that most of the teachers rarely made teaching learning process attractive, enjoyable and easier. It was also found that 70% of the teachers did not use goal-setting method and 75% of the teachers did not motivate the students for positive feelings by them.
