This approach demonstrates improvements in computational efficiency for RF device simulations, suggesting notable benefits over traditional methods.
This paper presents a combined approach to accelerate frequency sweeping in the simulation of radio frequency (RF) devices, a critical process in the design and optimization of high‐performance RF systems. Frequency sweeping is essential for analyzing device behavior across a wide spectrum, but it often incurs significant computational time and resource demands, particularly for broadband electromagnetic simulations. To address these challenges, the proposed method integrates Asymptotic Waveform Evaluation (AWE) with Multigrid solver techniques. AWE enhances simulation efficiency by approximating the device responses, thereby reducing the number of required computations across different frequency points. This approximation leverages asymptotic expansions to simplify waveform evaluations without compromising accuracy. Concurrently, the Multigrid solver improves the efficiency of solving large‐scale linear systems that arise from electromagnetic simulations by operating on multiple levels of grid resolution. This hierarchical approach accelerates the convergence process, significantly cutting down computation time. The synergy between AWE and Multigrid solvers results in a robust framework that effectively minimizes both computational time and resource usage while maintaining high fidelity in simulation results. Extensive numerical experiments conducted on various RF device models demonstrate that the combined approach outperforms traditional frequency sweep methods, achieving substantial reductions in simulation time and computational overhead.
