Analysis of dispersion equations for shear and longitudinal waves in fluid-like elastic cylinders, indicating its significance through experimental data.
The dispersion equation for axisymmetric waves in an elastic cylinder is obtained for the case of a fluid-like material (absence of shear waves). It is shown that in this case the equation splits into two independent equations corresponding to longitudinal and torsional waves. Features of dispersion curves for a fluid-like cylinder are considered. Results of numerical solution of the dispersion equation and experimental data confirming the theoretical conclusions are presented.
