Analysis of structural pattern and compression effects in the Verkhoyansk foldbelt's thrust systems, revealing geological complexities.
The paper describes frontal thrusts at the boundary between the Siberian Platform and the Verkhoyansk foldbelt, a marginal zone of a Mesozoic-Cenozoic orogenic belt in Northeastern Asia. Structural pattern of thrust systems changes from segment to segment along the foldbelt strike. Geometry of the Verkhoyansk front is determined by the structures formed on the eastern part of the platform as a result of Devonian rifting under general compression in sublatitudinal direction in the late Cretaceous.
