Electrochemical decomposition improves silver deposition on a gold nanoparticle/ITO electrode, indicating potential for improved nanostructure control.
In this study, a gold nanoparticle (AuNP)/ITO electrode with a high density of gold nanoparticles on the surface of an ITO transparent electrode was fabricated and a plasmon-induced silver ion reduction by visible light irradiation on the surface of the electrode was performed. A spectroelectrochemical system was constructed using the AuNP/ITO electrode as the working electrode, and the redox properties of silver ions were evaluated by measuring the reflection spectrum as a function of electrode potential. Based on the obtained characteristics, laser writing of silver nanostructures that can be rewritten repeatedly was demonstrated.
