Analysis reveals predictive modeling benefits in networked control systems, suggesting improved delay compensation.
This paper discusses the predictive control problem for the multi‐rate networked control system (MRNCS) with input delay and network‐induced time delay (NITD). To save network resources, the observer signals are transmitted to the controller by the coding–decoding communication strategy (CDCS). The primary objective of this research is to develop a nonfragile networked predictive control strategy (NPCS) aimed at compensating for the input delay and NITD. After transforming the multi‐rate system into an equivalent single‐rate system, the input‐to‐state stability (ISS) criterion is established for the closed‐loop system. Furthermore, the design method of gain matrices is proposed for the observer and the controller. A simulation is ultimately provided to illustrate the validity of the developed predictive control method.
