Results of the geological surveys carried out during the 15th trip of the research vessel Academician Nikolai Strakhov (1992) within the Cape Verde fracture zone (Mid-Atlantic Ridge) are described in short. Based on the collected oceanic rocks, features of the oceanic crust genesis are discussed.
