The recording comprised a detailed photographic survey (internal and external) of the principal dwelling as well as an analytical descriptive survey, a laser scan survey of the interior and a photogrammetric survey of the main external elevations. The ancillary buildings and structures considered curtilage to the principal dwelling, were also investigated, and recorded at the same level. COPA was commissioned by Fusion JV to carry out historic building and setting recording prior to the demolition of a group of buildings at Lower Thorpe Farm, situated to the east of Banbury Lane in Lower Thorpe, Thorpe Mandeville, Northamptonshire. The farm is situated c. 500m to the north-east of the village of Thorpe Mandeville, c. 9km to the north-east of Banbury and c. 15km south-west of Towcester. The work was undertaken in accordance with a Location Specific Written Scheme of Investigation (LS-WSI) for Historic Building Recording; Historic Landscape Study and Setting Recording (Doc. No: 1EW03-FUS-EV-REP-C000-009803) and a Method Statement for Building Recording, Lower Thorpe Farmhouse, Thorpe Mandeville, Northamptonshire (Doc. No: 1EW03-FUS-EV-MST-CS07CL26-000640). COPA carried out an external and internal photographic survey of the buildings and their immediate setting. The farmhouse has 18th century origins and the complex expanded over the course of the 19th century.
