Highlight review reveals new methodologies for amine synthesis from boronic acid derivatives, indicating efficient TM-free processes.
Extensive efforts have been devoted to the development of new methodologies for C−N bond-forming reactions to access valuable nitrogen-containing organic molecules. Growing interest in transition-metal (TM)-free processes, which serve as indispensable tools for greener and more efficient synthesis, has led to the development of TM-free electrophilic amination of readily available organoboron compounds as a promising approach. This highlight review summarizes recent advances in the TM-free electrophilic amination of boronic acid derivatives, which have greatly expanded the scope and efficiency of amine synthesis.
