This research demonstrates recycling potential and high tensile strength in polymeric materials derived from eugenol, suggesting sustainable development benefits.
The synthesis and recycling of biomass‐based polymeric materials represent an effective strategy to address energy and environmental challenges, holding significant importance for sustainable development. In this study, an epoxy resin was synthesized from eugenol and subsequently crosslinked with succinic anhydride in the presence of Zn 2+ to produce recyclable vitrimeric materials. When the epoxy‐to‐anhydride ratio was 2:1, the vitrimer could be reprocessed at 190°C and the recycling efficiency exceeded 90%. Notably, the unique alternating structure of flexible polymer chains and rigid benzene rings endows the material with high tensile strength (> 90 MPa) while maintaining an elongation at break exceeding 10%.
