Analysis reveals significant links between fear of falling and depression in older adults, suggesting family dynamics may influence outcomes.
The study found a significant relationship between fear of falling and depression in older adults, as well as the number of falls in the past year. There is a significant difference between groups in terms of fear of falling and depression levels among older adults, depending on the people they live with. Those living with their nuclear family have lower levels of depression and a reduced fear of falling than those living alone or with an extended family. Furthermore, no significant differences were found between groups regarding the likelihood of falling and depression levels in relation to the height of older adults.
