Composite synthesized with molten salt shows high sulfur utilization and good electrochemical performance in lithium–sulfur battery cathodes.
Porous carbons were produced by molten salt assisted activation for use in Li–S battery cathode. The best performing composite displayed high sulfur utilization and good electrochemical performance even at high mass loading of sulfur at 5.15 mg cm −2 .
