Benign lymphoepithelial cysts (BLECs) are benign, slow-growing, and rare pathologic conditions that affect glandular structures of the head-and-neck region. Enlarged BLEC results in cosmetic deficit. While BLEC is uncommon in immunocompetent patients, it is a common cause of parotid swelling in immunocompromised patients with human immunodeficiency virus. There is low recurrence rate following superficial parotidectomy, which is the main treatment modality. To the best of my knowledge, this is the first case of BLEC in an immunocompetent patient that would be reported in Nigeria.
